Our Best Holiday Parks for Enjoying France's Beaches

The kids have packed buckets and spades and you want to sunbathe on golden sands… It has to be a beach holiday in France. France has miles of sandy coast to choose from, much of it just a short drive – or walk – from one of our holiday parks. The only decision you have to make is whether to go wild on the Atlantic side or a bit ritzier on the Med!

Glitz and Glamour on the Med

The golden beaches along the Mediterranean coast are as well-known as the movie stars you’ve seen on them, but they’re not just for the rich and famous – there’s a beach to suit everybody. From small and pebbly to long and sandy, the Med’s got the lot, plus blue skies, sunshine and a sparkling turquoise sea. Throw in medieval towns to explore, amazing landscapes and some stylish cities and why would you go anywhere else?

On the Mediterranean coast, a ten-minute walk through our holiday park La Carabasse brings you to the beautiful sandy beach. The nearby seaside town of Vias Plage has everything from bars and restaurants to discos, shops and a fun fair. But you might not want to stray far from the campsite and its giant lagoon pool – one of the biggest in the region. Mar Estang is another Languedoc park perfect for enjoying sea and sand, it is situated only 100m from the beach.

Languedoc on France’s southern coast has everything you need for a fantastic family holiday: Mediterranean climate, long sandy beaches, astonishing scenery, medieval villages steeped in history, chic cities, and interesting wines.

Nowhere is more synonymous with holidays in France than Provence; and the delightful Côte d’Azur region in its southeast corner is the perfect mixture of seaside resort, hillside hamlet and chic city. The Mediterranean climate and dazzling light have attracted and inspired the greatest artists of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Unspoilt Beaches on the Atlantic

France’s Atlantic coast, the westernmost point of Europe, is 1,000km long with gorgeous stretches of clean, soft sand surrounded by unspoilt, beautiful scenery – ideal for a family camping holiday. Some of the beaches are in the heart of seaside towns, while others are a bit wilder – perfect for the little pirates in the family to rockpool and swashbuckle on.

Stretching from Hendaye in the Basque country to Le Conquet in Brittany, the beaches form an almost unbroken line facing the Atlantic Ocean. Behind the beaches there are often large sand dunes and huge forests that are great for hiking and cycling.

You’ll also find big lakes with calm waters, where the children can paddle when the waves on the coast are too big! And from our Bonne Anse Plage campsite in Charente Maritime, you even have amazing views over the bay with its stunning sandy beaches.
