Campsites in France Near Fishing Lakes & Rivers

The two best holiday campsites for lakeside fishing (carp or otherwise) are Le Domaine de Litteau and Le Domaine de Dugny, both of which have on-site fishing lakes. Le Domaine de Litteau is also near to Les Etangs de Planquery, a complex of fishing lakes near the magnificent Château de Ballero.

Le Domaine de Dugny has the added bonus of being near to the lovely Loire River. The Loire can be up to half a mile wide, but it frequently becomes much narrower as it makes its way around islands. You can catch large barbell at many spots along the Loire, but if your fishing lets you down, many of the riverside restaurants serve it stuffed for you to enjoy with a glass of wine.

Before you start loading the car with rods and bait, it’s worth mentioning that fishing in many areas in France requires a fishing licence. You can buy these online but the rules differ between regions and types of fishing, so contact your Siblu holiday park first. We’ll be more than happy to help you arrange things.

We know it’s a big ask, but if you can peel yourself off the sun-drenched beach, you’ll find a treasure trove of activities and adventure to enjoy.

France has a long and proud horse riding tradition and boasts multitude of trail rides and bridleways (known as randonnées) criss-crossing the country. Many of our Siblu parks are near riding schools, but La Pignade holiday park in Charente-Maritime takes it one step further with its own riding school on-site.

The highlight of any Siblu holiday in France is without doubt our pool complexes with an incredible selection of slides, including some fantastic multi-lane racer slides. View a selection of our best water parks below and choose the one which suits you best. Who will be the undisputed champion of the pool in your party?

Let’s face it – we go on holiday to relax. And where better to feel the tension leaving our shoulders than at a campsite in beautiful France? Whether you’re planning to hike, cycle and splash about with the kids or just lie back and enjoy the sun and the view, our holiday parks give you the perfect escape from the daily grind.

If there’s one thing that France is famous for, it’s wine. In fact, two French wine-making regions have even achieved Unesco World Heritage status – meaning they’re “of outstanding value to humanity”!

The kids have packed buckets and spades and you want to sunbathe on golden sands… It has to be a beach holiday in France. France has miles of sandy coast to choose from, much of it just a short drive – or walk – from one of our holiday parks. The only decision you have to make is whether to go wild on the Atlantic side or a bit ritzier on the Med!

If you want the freedom of bringing your own car to France the ferry can be a great way to start your holiday. Many families find that the journey itself becomes an adventure for the kids, especially as many of them have supervised play areas, cinemas and children’s entertainers. Grown-ups can enjoy the shops, bars and restaurants.

Planning to get the plane from Ireland and rent a car when you arrive in France? France has many world-class airports with direct links to Ireland – with some Siblu campsites within an hour’s drive. ‘Fly-drive’ packages give you the best of both worlds: the speed and convenience of flying and the use of a car for your holiday.

France offers a wealth of cultural activities, from its beautiful Chateaux in the Loire Valley, to the D-Day landing beaches in Normandy, medieval towns in the south and so much more. Our holiday parks make the perfect base for exploring this fascinating country and learning more about its rich history.

Lush green scenery, breathtaking views, water sports for kids and adults… If this sounds like your perfect break, why not try a lakeside holiday? France is home to some of the most beautiful lakes in the world, from small natural mountain lakes to large artificial leisure lakes.

Discover our holiday parks with indoor or covered pools for those who need to dive in come rain or shine – handy if you’re swimming to keep fit and don’t want to overheat in the sun while you plough up and down.

Our campsites are located close to some of the most beautiful and well known cities in France: Montpellier, Nice, Bordeaux, La Rochelle and Nantes. Choose a holiday destination that gives you the best of both worlds – relaxation on the campsite and sightseeing in the city.
