siblu is implementing a programme of environmental improvements at our parcs to ensure that energy use is kept to the minimum.

co2balance initiates and manages its own offset projects to ensure that the promised offsets are delivered and maintained throughout the life of the project. Their methods are verified and accredited by Bournemouth University to give added confidence in their activities.

co2balance only plants on land in their ownership so that the future of the woodland is assured.  Planting land will gradually be vested in a Trust whose brief is to ensure that woodland is managed and maintained in perpetuity so that the carbon seized in the trees remains so for the long-term. 

In order to ensure the carbon remains absorbed, co2balance will gradually harvest the timber for use in building products and other long-term timber uses once the trees reach maturity.  This will happen on a phased basis so that forests always contain trees of different ages stretching from newly-planted to fully-mature.

All co2balance funding comes from clients wishing to offset Carbon Dioxide and other greenhouse gases.  They do not take grant funding as this would remove funding from a limited pot that would have been used for tree planting elsewhere.

co2balance only operate programmes that create ‘additionality’, which requires that the carbon offset action being undertaken must not have happened but for the investment of the offset funds, so ensuring that the carbon offsetter is making a difference.
