Camping Holidays in Rhône-Alpes

Les Rives de Condrieu, Condrieu

Immerse yourself in nature on this park that overlooks the Rhône river.

pool complex at domaine de dugny

The stunning Rhône-Alpes region stretches from Lake Geneva in the north to Provence and the Cevennes in the south. This eastern corner of France is all about forests, mountains, rivers and fresh air, and Siblu’s holiday park, Les Rives de Condrieu, is the perfect exploring base. Even better, the climate is ‘Alpine mixed with Mediterranean’, so holiday here and you will benefit from reliably warm, sunny days in summer. And with Lyon a short drive away, there’s plenty of culture, shopping and urban delights to sample too. Let’s find out more!

The Great Outdoors

On the edge of Pilat national park and just an hour way from Vercors, campsite Les Rives de Condrieu allows you to dedicate your holiday to a different outdoor activity every day. Take in the amazing views while hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horse riding, canoeing, water-skiing, or one of the many other possibilities! If you're a fan of cycling then you are in for a treat : the ViaRhôna, a cycle track that connects Lake Geneva and the Mediterrannean, runs through Pilat national park. Cycling a section of it while holidaying in the Rhône-Alpes with Siblu is the perfect way to discover local villages, magical scenery and exquisite, regional cuisine…

Things To Do & Special Events

If the great outdoors and natural parks of the Rhône-Alpes leave you hankering for still more thrills, try Cimes Aventures, an adventure park in Septème packed with rope bridges, nets and even death slides! For a change in pace, a musical interlude might just do the trick: why not take part in Vienne’s atmospheric summer jazz festival?

Local Discoveries & Hidden Gems

The delightful village of Condrieu lies on the banks of the Rhône as it sweeps southward and you can stroll to it from Les Rives de Condrieu campsite. It is also famed for its eponymous floral white wine that’s just waiting to be sampled. In the immediate surroundings there are many more villages of character to visit (Malleval, Sainte-Croix-en-Jare). As well as jazz, the nearby town of Vienne has impressive Roman remains, and some of the concerts are held in the Théâtre Antique. It’s also worth getting to the Saturday market for the best and freshest local produce. And don’t miss the Palais Idéal in Hauterives: an amazing 19th century folly built by eccentric postman, Ferdinand Cheval, in what’s been dubbed ‘naïve art style’. It truly has to be seen to be believed!

Places To Go

Lyon is a must-visit, at least once. You will eat well: it is famed for being the culinary capital of France! The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Musée des Beaux Arts hosts works from Monet and Picasso. And trivia fact: it is home to the first movie ever made by the Lumière brothers in 1895. There’s also a terrific city park – Parc de la Tête d’Or – complete with zoo, pony rides and pedalos. Saint Etienne also makes for a great day-trip. It has a wonderful selection of museums, including the Musée d’Art Moderne, and Parc de l’Europe, a great spot for picnics, has a merry-go-round and little train.
